Game 1:

Pigeons               5 10  0

Athletics              4  7  0

David Peralta had 2 base hits at O.co Coliseum as the Kansas City Pigeons beat

the Oakland Athletics 5 to 4.

Danny Duffy(1-0) had a fairly solid outing. He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk

in 5 innings.  Neither team managed to score after the 3rd inning.

Duffy got relief help from Rafael Soriano who gained credit for his 1st save.

Bartolo Colon(0-1) suffered the loss.  He surrendered 10 hits and 1 walk in 7

innings.

Game 2:

Pigeons                4  7  2

Athletics              11 15  1

In a lop-sided win the Oakland Athletics plated 6 runs in the 2nd inning and

ripped the Kansas City Pigeons by a 11 to 4 count.

Edinson Volquez(1-0) gave Oakland a solid outing.  He went 8 and 1/3 innings

surrendering 6 hits and 2 walks.  Oakland had 15 hits overall, while Kansas

City had 7.

Anibal Sanchez(0-1) was the loser.  He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3

innings.

Game 3:

Athletics              5 11  1

Pigeons               4 10  3

Dan Haren allowed Oakland's manager to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete

game at Kauffman Stadium as the Oakland Athletics came back dramatically to

top the Kansas City Pigeons by the score of 5 to 4.

Oakland scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning with 2 runs on 4 base

hits.  After an out was recorded, Rajai Davis kicked off the action when he

doubled.  One out later, Alexei Ramirez stepped up to the plate and he laced

a base-knock.  James Loney then lined a one-base hit.  Loney took second on

the throw.  Angel Pagan followed next and he hit a single, and an error was

also committed.  Jose Altuve stepped into the box and was hit by a pitch.

Oakland banged out 11 hits on the night.

The winning pitcher was Haren(1-0) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Rafael

Soriano(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.  Ned Yost was understandably not

very talkative after his team's tough loss.  He quickly showered and changed

and when asked about the game had a terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows,

that game was a heart-breaker to lose.  Our guys gave it their all and played

well - fate just wasn't smilin' on us tonight'

Game 4:

Athletics              10 12  2

Pigeons                7 11  1

Pablo Sandoval slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Oakland Athletics came

back to win one over Kansas City Pigeons, 10 to 7.

An offensive explosion by Oakland in the top of the 9th inning ended any

Kansas City hopes for a victory when they exploded for 7 runs on 5 hits.  The

key offensive moment was provided by Sandoval who disappointed the partisan

crowd when he hit a single bringing home two baserunners.  Oakland rapped out

12 hits for the night.

The win went to Jamey Wright(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in 2 innings. Mike

Dunn(0-1) took the loss in relief.  Dunn was feeling apologetic in the locker

room, 'I sure let that one get away.  What a miserable feeling to let the

guys down; and our fans.  One minute things are looking great, then. BOOM,

it's over with! I just hope I get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'

Game 5:

Athletics              3  9  1

Pigeons               8 11  1

Jason Kipnis had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Kansas City Pigeons beat the

Oakland Athletics by a score of 8 to 3.

Kansas City scored 4 runs in the decisive 2nd inning when they came up with 5

base hits.  That was all Danny Duffy(2-0) needed.  Kansas City managed 11

hits in their victory.

Ryan Vogelsong(0-1) absorbed the loss.  He was not very effective,

surrendering 6 runs in 2 innings.

Game 6:

Pigeons               5 13  2

Athletics              6 11  1

One run was the difference at O.co Coliseum as the Oakland Athletics defeated

the Kansas City Pigeons 6 to 5.

Bartolo Colon(1-1) was solid if not spectacular.  He went 7 innings

surrendering 11 hits and no walks.  Kansas City threatened in the 9th but

Oakland was able to put down the rally.

Colon got help from Jamey Wright who was credited with his 1st save.  Anibal

Sanchez(0-2) ended up with the loss.  Ned Yost was clearly disappointed after

the game.  'It was a manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have

had this one.'
