Pittsburgh Sharktopus

Future of the Franchise

Mookie Betts
When Mookie Betts started playing baseball, he was so small that he needed suspenders to keep his pants from falling down
Scouts begain fawing over Mookie when he was only 17 years old in High School. And, it only took 4 years before he would break into the Majors. Scouts would rave about him, mesmorized by his ability to get on base He would walk, hit, and then steal. His own one man wrecking crew.
He plays with an edge, a driving force. A force so strong it led him to tumble over the bullpen wall at Fenway resulting in a concussion.
With some edge lost in recent trades of bad boys Gomez and Machado, Pittsburg is looking for a fiery Mookie to drive their team forward for many years.
Team MVP

Yu Darvish
It was an eventful 2015 for Yu.
First, after hearing Jose Fernandez has started down the road to becoming an American citizen, Yu decided he wanted to try as well. He laments however, that since he doesn't travel with the teams on road trips, and instead sits at home and watches on TV, his English has started to slip. Oh, and he can't actually watch all the away games either due to Local Blackout Restrictions for MLB.com At Bat. I can attest, it's a bummer.
In June, as Cole Hamels fever was taking over the Rangers, Yu had a little news of his own. He had a baby boy. Congrats Yu.
He also spent quite a bit of time redecorating his upscale $2.7 Million penthouse at the Ritz Carlton. You know, baby-proofing and all....
And to think, the year got off to such a promising start. Elvis even got all up on him with a raukus rendition of "Bump and Grind" by R. Kelly in front of the team.
Oh, should I mention, the reason he had so much time on his hands was due to Tommy John surgery in March. Oops. What's that contract again?
