Seattle Mariners

Future of the Franchise

Aaron Judge
The number 99 has a long history in sports greatness. Specifically, Judge shares a jersey with Wayne Gretzky, the Great One. Gretzky ended his career with ridiculous numbers, most notably as the all-time leader in points per game. Taking goals and assists into account, Gretzky ended up playing 1,487 games totaling 2,857 points, with a points per game ratio of 1.92.

But what about Judge? Currently, Judge has 419 career putouts in the OF and 76 homeruns, which, combined, gives him 495 points in 258 games played, with a grand total of......... 1.92 points per game. Exactly the same as The Great One himself. Now that is eerie......

So whether it be with a stick with a curve at the end, or a stick with a rounded end, these two Great-Ones will forever be linked. Now, Seattle just has to hope Judge will end his career just like Gretzky's.
