Detroit Silver Bullets

Future of the Franchise

George Springer
After his breakthrough season, the chatter in the clubhouse regarding Springer has been centered around his hair. Some people just have good hair. And his truly is spectacular. However, one of the major hurdles that he needed to clear before spring training opened was his mother's opinion on his muted Mohawk. Luckily, she approves. So onward to baseball for George.
For a power hitter, it seems ironic that his first major league hit came on a dribbler. His 2012 season continued to be rocky as well, ending abruptly with a quadriceps injurgy. It was plagued with a low average, as well as 114 strikeouts in only 295 at bats. But he also clubbed 20 homers with an .804 OPS and 51 RBI. Projected for a full 600 at bats, even on a let-down rookie year, he would have impressive counting stats.
Scouts seem to agree too, this guy is legite. He has power, and can produce. But to stay in the majors and contribute, he will have to cut back on the swing and misses.
Team MVP

Bryce Harper
In 2015 Bryce Harper won the NL MVP. By a landslide, as he is the youngest player ever to win the voting unanimously. But the factoids don't stop there.
Jacob Lindgren will live on forever in baseball lore. He is the only pitcher Bryce Harper has faced that is younger then he is, and it happened in this landmark 2015 season for the first time.
Harper had a league leading .460 OBP. At age 22, only Ted Williams and Jimmie Fox had better. But then again, Teddy Williams did have a head start on Harper....... Head.... Start....
He is also the youngest player to have 42 homers and 124 walks. The previous owner of the record? Babe Ruth.
So if your counting, this write up has Babe Ruth and Ted Williams in the same discussion as Harper. Now that's pretty impressive
