Philadelphia CheeseSteaks

Future of the Franchise

Lewis Brinson
Brinson has been a top tier prospect for the last few years. And now, in 2018 he's getting his chance. So, what strategy is his manager utilizing to get the most out of Brinson: “We’re doing some things here at this level that you usually don’t do at this level. You usually do it in the winter or other places. But we’re trying to get some stuff done.” That's right, Brinson is playing less but practicing more- at the big league level. Instead of playing three games in a row, it's only two, with extra batting cage and fielding work being done on the third day. The results: significant improvement.
Brinson is now noticeably chasing fewer pitches out of the strike zone and making better contact. If he can bring his strikeouts back down to the level they were at in the Minors, he could be a valuable hitter for Philadelphia.
And none of that mentions his Gold Glove-caliber defense. He is quality player that is still young enough to show growth and plenty of upside. His ceiling is high, and could be an important player for Philadelphia for many years to come.
Team MVP

Mike Trout
Everybody wants to find the next Mike Trout, but not Philadelphia. They have found theirs, and they will keep him forever if possible.
But how much do you really know about the Millville Meteor??? When he was a kid, he would sleep in his uniform after games.
Only two players in Angels franchise history have been named Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball America: Mike Trout and Tim Salmon. (Although that fact does seem a little fishy to me.)
Trout's first major league hit came off a bunt.
Due to his lasting legacy and excellence, at the High School Trout graduated from, each year the star on the baseball team gets to wear Trout's old jersey for the year.
Since 2014, he's played in two games on his birthday, homering in both. In his home town, he has a "usual" order at the local burger place: six small hamburgers, no cheese.
In High School, as a pitcher, he shut out the Egg Harbour Township by striking out 18 of 21 hitters.
After his rookie season, on a fishing expedition, he and his family members caught a 500 pound grouper.
Nothing like some fun facts for the best hitter and possibly most valuable player in the game.
